Historical Sailing Route
During this boat trip we let you relive old times by sailing the historic sailing route (part of the old route from the historic inner harbor of Maastricht via the Zuid Willemsvaart to Flanders). The route starts on the Maas and enters the old inland harbor “t Bassin” via lock 20. From the old inner harbour, with its old quay cellars and old monumental factory buildings, you continue along the old fortifications, under a tunnel constructed by Willem I, to the manually operated lock 19. You return via the Zuid Willemsvaart and the Bosscherveld lock. on the Meuse. Depending on the locks, this route may be the other way around.

- Passage of 3 locks and tunnel
During this trip, the boat passes 3 locks, 1 of which is still manually operated. The boat also sails through a tunnel that was once part of the old city walls.
- Passage of the old inner harbor with its quay cellars
't Bassin is a marina right next to the historic heart of Maastricht. The wharf cellars of 't Bassin are bustling with various restaurants, grand cafés, shops and galleries. Especially in summer it has a Mediterranean feel with filled terraces at the edge of the water.

For groups of 20 or more people, it is possible to combine the cruise with a Captain's lunch extensive lunch, with an assortment of rolls and breads, young cheese, brie, gingerbread, various meats, yogurt and jam. Coffee and tea are served upon request. Reservations are only possible through our reservations department.
Frequently asked questions
No, unfortunately it is not possible to make this trip if you or someone in your party cannot walk a number of steps yourself. The wheelchair will be parked for you on our jetty.
After you have made the payment you will receive the tickets in your mailbox. If you do not receive tickets, we advise you to check your spam box first. If you do not find any tickets there either, please contact us with our reservations department.
After purchasing your ticket, you can no longer cancel and there is no refund for tickets that you will not use. You can convert your ticket to another date free of charge up to 48 hours in advance. For this, please contact us at our reservations department.
The jetties and ticket office are located at Maaspromenade 58, right in the center of Maastricht, between the Sint Servaasbrug and the Wilhelminabrug. The City-Tour through Maastricht, which is provided by our American school bus, also departs from this location. The Maaspromenade is a walking area and is not accessible to cars for large parts of the day (11am-6pm). We advise you to park your car in one of the parking garages nearby the Rederij. The Maaspromenade is a pedestrian area and therefore not accessible by car. The nearest parking garage is the Mosae Forum parking garage at Maasboulevard 40. Coaches do have the option to drop off and pick up guests all day long. They can use the route via Het Bat and Kesselskade. For parking of coaches, we refer to the website of Maastricht Bereikbaar
During the Historical Sailing Route you can take your dog with you, provided it is on a lead.
Our ships all have indoor seating as well as an outdoor deck. We do not reserve a specific place inside or outside for our passengers. If you would like to sit outside in good weather, you should therefore embark early.
